Working with Tags

Tags are really just labels that make it easy for you to see which items belong where. If you’ve ever stuck sticky notes on samples to help you remember which sample was for which project or room, you already know the basics of tags!

Pro Tip: It's always a good idea to come up with a plan for how you'd like to use tags in your business.

Project Products & Services List

You probably already know that you can label your products and services by room, but have you thought about using tags for other ways you’d like to label them?

For example, you can use tags to create schedules for your contractor. Add a Lighting tag to all of the lighting products in the project. Next, switch to Table view and filter for the Lighting tag. Double-check to make sure the field visibility settings work for anyone who will see the schedule, then save the view and add team members and/or clients.

Vendors

Have you ever wished that you could narrow down your vendors to only see the ones that have a specific product type or service? For example, only the vendors that carry lighting or only the vendors that you use for hard window treatments? Tags will let you do that!

What about when you need to quickly source a project and only want to see the vendors in a particular price range or style? Tags will let you do that, too!

Time Tracker

Using tags in your time tracker can help you keep track of hours for block-of-hour type packages, or to see how much time you really spent on a particular room in a project. You can also use tags to see how much time you spent on things like lighting or custom soft goods in a project.

Suggestions for Tags

To make things easy for you, we have a list of suggestions for tags that you might want to use in your studio. Use them all, mix and match, or create your own!
