Locked Products, Services, and Custom Products
Locked items are a great way to mark items as purchased. This will lock in the Qty, Base Price, Currency, Base Tax Rate, Modifier Mode, Modifiers, and Shipping within a Product, Service (apart from shipping), and Custom Products within that particular Project. So, when prices inevitably change, you don't have to worry about the price change editing your previous projects.
This is a great step to add to your process! It'll help make sure the prices for each project stay at the price they were when you were working on the project.
Purchased the project within the Products & Services page? Have a price increase on an item you use regularly? Get a new trade account with a vendor if you want to add a default discount to. Locked products will not automatically be affected by these changes whereas unlocked products will be.
Click the lock icon in the upper right-hand corner of the item you wish to make un-editable.
This will grey out the fields mentioned above.
To unlock an item, click the lock icon again. A prompt will pop up saying: Unlocking an item will reset the saved purchase price (and any discount or markup) and will impact any orders using this item even if closed.
Click "Proceed" to unlock the item or "Cancel" to keep the item locked.
