In this guide, we'll explore the Environmental Impact feature that helps designers track and manage the carbon footprint of products and services within their projects.

By inputting the carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) of each product and service, you can maintain an eco-friendly approach to interior design while staying within your overall project carbon footprint budget.

Adding a Carbon Dioxide Equivalent to a Product

When creating a product:

On the Specs tab, enter the kgCO2e associated with the service in the Carbon Dioxide Equivalent field:

When editing a base product:

On the Specs tab, enter the kgCO2e associated with the service in the Carbon Dioxide Equivalent field:

Carbon Dioxide Equivalent of a Custom Product

Custom products will show the total CO2e of the products and services that make up that custom product.

Adding a Project Environmental Budget

The total CO2e budget for the entire project can be entered in the project overview. To add an environmental impact budget, click on the pencil icon:

Then enter the total kgCO2e in the Environmental Impact Budget field:

The budget will be displayed in the Project Overview and in the budget summary in the project's Products & Services List.

Products & Services List

Your project's CO2e total for all of the products and services you've added to the project is shown in the Budget Summary on the project's overall Products & Services List.

The Budget Summary also includes the project's CO2e budget and how many kgCO2e you have remaining and updates in real-time so you can catch over-budget additions immediately.

Environmental Impact Budgets for Views

You can also add a dedicated CO2e budget to your filtered views - for example, setting separate budgets for lighting, furniture, etc.

When creating a view:

On the Set details tab, enter the kgCO2e budget Environmental Impact Budget field:

When editing a view:

On the Set details tab, enter the kgCO2e budget Environmental Impact Budget field:
