How to Transfer Your Mydoma Studio

How to set a new person as your studio's owner

There are many reasons why you might need to transfer ownership of your Mydoma Studio to another team member. For example, the business has been sold, the current studio owner is moving on to pursue new career opportunities or taking on a different role within the company, etc. Whatever the reason, we're here to help you navigate this process with ease.

Step 1 - Studio Settings - Transfer Ownership

Navigate to your studio's Studio Settings Basic Info tab, then scroll down until you see the Transfer Ownership button.

PLEASE NOTE: Only studio owners will be able to see the Transfer Ownership button in their studio settings.


Step 2 - Choose Who You Want to Transfer Ownership To

Click on the Transfer Ownership button to open the Transfer Ownership dialog box.

The Next button will remain grayed out and inactive until you select an existing team member to take your place and a new team member role for yourself.

While it is not required, we strongly recommend creating the new role and setting the permissions for it before you begin the transfer process.

After you have selected the team member who will be the new studio owner and the new role for yourself, click the Next button.


Step 3 - Confirm Transfer

After you click Next, you will need to confirm the transfer.

The Transfer Ownership will remain grayed out and inactive until you digitally sign the confirmation.

Carefully read the information, then type your name in the box. Make sure it exactly matches the way your name is shown in the studio. After you have signed the confirmation, the Transfer Ownership button will appear. Click the Transfer Ownership button to finalize the transfer.

PLEASE NOTE: The transfer will not be complete until you have clicked the Transfer Ownership button on the "Confirm transfer ownership" screen. Once you have finalized the transfer, you cannot undo the process.

You can click Cancel to cancel the process at any point prior to confirming the transfer.


Step 4 - Email Confirmations

After confirming the transfer, both you and the new studio owner will receive emails confirming the transfer.
