Credit
There are times when you need to give a client a credit for a product or service on a paid invoice. Some examples:
A product had to be cancelled and reselected
The client has returned a product
A service is no longer needed
The client overpaid on a retainer or on another invoice
Use this method to give a client a credit for an item on a paid invoice.
Best practice for crediting a return/cancellation:
Create a new invoice
Add the product as a line item from the product catalog
Add a - in front of the rate on the line item.
Mark the invoice as paid with client credit. This will automatically add the credit amount to the Client Profile. **Do not export this to QBO**
