Making the same update to many products in your product catalog one-by-one can be very tedious and time-consuming. But, when you use the bulk edit feature in your product catalog you can apply it quickly across multiple products at once rather than editing one by one. The feature can be used to add tags, change vendors, change product category or subcategory, or change price type.

Whether you realize that you forgot to categorize all those light fixtures you just clipped, you added products to your catalog from a retail vendor and now you need to change the vendor on all of them to your trade vendor, or you're switching from retail to trade pricing (or vice versa), you can now make the adjustments quickly and easily.

Select the Products

First, navigate to your product catalog by clicking on the price tag icon in your studio navigation.

To select products, click on the box in the top, left-hand corner of each of the products you need to edit:

You'll notice that the action bar at the top changes. On the left, you can see how many items you have selected. On the right, you'll see an Edit button. Click the edit button:

When you do, a dropdown menu will open. Click on the property you'd like to edit for those products:

Bulk Edit Tags

To bulk edit the tags, select Tags in the Edit dropdown.

The Tags dialog will open:

Start typing the tag name or scroll to the tag you'd like to add to all of the products you've selected and click on the tag to apply it. You can apply as many tags as you'd like.

If the tag you'd like to apply doesn't exist, you can create and apply it by clicking the Create button under the search box:

If you change your mind about one of the tags, you can remove it from the list of tags you plan to apply by clicking the X on the right-hand side of the tag:

Once you have chosen the tags that you'd like to apply to the selected products, click Save. Those products will now have the tag(s) you chose.

Bulk Edit Vendor

To bulk edit the vendor, select Vendor in the Edit dropdown. You can use this feature to add or edit the vendor of the products you've selected.

The Vendor dialog will open. Click on the Vendor box to open the dropdown:

Start typing the vendor name or scroll to the vendor you'd like to apply to all of the products you've selected and click on the vendor name to select it.

After you've chosen the vendor, click Save to apply the vendor to all of the selected products.

Bulk Edit Category and/or Subcategory

To bulk edit the Category and/or Subcategory, select Category & Subcategory in the Edit dropdown. You can use this feature to add or edit the category and/or subcategory of the products you've selected.

When you do, the Select Category & Subcategory dialog box opens.

Edit Category

Click on the Select Category box in the dialog to open the dropdown:

Start typing the category name or scroll to the category you'd like to apply to all of the products you've selected and click on the category name to select it.

If you are only changing the category, click Save to apply that category to all of the products you have selected.

If you would like to apply a subcategory, continue to the next step below.

Edit Subcategory

Once you have chosen the category for your selected products, you can then click on the Select Subcategory box in the dialog to open the dropdown:

Start typing the subcategory name or scroll to the subcategory you'd like to apply to all of the products you've selected and click on the subcategory name to select it.

If the subcategory you'd like to apply doesn't exist, you can create and apply it by clicking the Create button under the search box:

Click Save to apply the category and subcategory to all of the products you have selected.

Bulk Edit Price Type

To bulk edit the Price Type, select Price type in the Edit dropdown. You can use this feature to change the price type of the products you've selected to either Retail or Trade.

When you do, the Select Price Type dialog box opens.

Click in the Price type box to open the dropdown.

In the dropdown, click on the price type you'd like to apply:

Click Save to apply the price type to all of the products you have selected.
