Contracts are found under projects. The contract section will initially be blank. Create contracts from scratch, copy and paste from existing documents or start with an uploaded contract template and modify on a per project basis.

How to Create a Contract and or Upload a Contract?

Open a project and go to the Contracts tab.

Click "Add text contract" or "Add file contract" depending on the route you'd like to go.

Add text contract

Click "Add text contract." Start typing or copy and paste your contract. If copying and pasting from another document be sure to use "plain text" paste. This will remove visible or hidden existing formatting that might make your contract misbehave.

Format your contract using the basic text editor

When done, check the box for "Ready for client acceptance." Taking this action will have the contract show up for the client to review and sign off.

The contract will show under Pending Contracts with the status "Ready for Acceptance."

Add file contract

Click "Add file contract" to upload a PDF or Word document of your contract. Select your file to upload, rename if need be, check "Ready for client acceptance" then click "Save"

**Note** If a client cannot see a contract, check to see if it shows "Unpublished." If the "Unpublished" stamp is on the contract in question, click the three vertical dots next to the contract, click "Edit," then check the box marked "Ready for client acceptance" and then "Save."

How many contracts can I have?

You can have multiple contracts per project! This is particularly helpful if you require any revisions, additional documents, add to the scope of work, or have a repeat client.

Can I edit or delete a signed contract?

Once a contract is signed it is locked. This means neither you or the client can make changes to the original because it is a legally binding document.

What are contract statuses?

There are three contract statuses: Unpublished, Read for Acceptance, and Accepted.

How do Clients Sign the Contract?

The intended workflow is to have clients log into your studio, review, and electronically sign the contract online.

After you've created your contract click contract "ready for client acceptance." Taking this action will have the contract show up for the client to review and sign off.

Message your client to tell them the contract is ready.

Client logs in, review the contract, click "Sign Contract," and type in their name to electronically sign their contract.

You'll receive a notification that the contract has been approved by your client. The electronically signed contract will then move to the "Accepted Contracts" with a date stamp and who the contract was accepted by.

**Note** Signed contracts cannot be edited or deleted.

If your client is having trouble signing, click here to see some common reasons why this may be.

How many clients can sign off on a contract?

At this time you can have multiple clients on a project but only one client can sign off on the contract.

Are clients automatically notified that a contract is ready?

No they are not. This is intentional in the event that you need to make edits the client isn't being notified each time. We recommend you contact your client directly to let them know the contract is ready for their review and approval.

What if my client doesn't want to log in, can I download a PDF of my contract?

Yes you can! click "generate PDF" in the top action bar of the contracts section. You can save the PDF for printing or emailing directly to your client
