Do you have favourite products you like specify in a project? If so, we have built you a tool for creating your personal product catalog. Products can be added to multiple projects over and over again!
This section will teach you how to create and edit your personal product catalog. Products in your catalog are global. This means if you make changes to a product from within the catalog it will change everywhere you've used that product. Your product catalog is a very powerful tool and later on we’re going to cover the important role your catalog plays in creating product lists, pricing sheets, mood boards, purchase orders, invoices and much more.
There are two ways to add products to your catalog. The first is by clicking "add new product" through your studio and the second is by using our "product clipper" on your favorite websites. We have also loaded some partner products into your catalog, scroll down for more on that.
Adding & editing products through your studio
Create a new product by clicking “add new product” or edit an existing one by clicking edit. *Note: partner vendor products cannot be edited*
Fill in the name and category of the product you would like to add to your catalog.
You can also choose to add it directly to a project or package upon creation.
Upload a feature image of the product. This can be done by pasting an image link of the product or by uploading a saved image on your computer. Once you have done this click "Create Product" to fill in the details.
Add additional images of the products. This will allow you to chose which image suits best in your moodboard or allow your client to see the product in different persepectives.
Fill out as much of the product information as you like and even add additional photos. A product must have a name and a category at the minimum. There are specific fields for setting your "designer" price as well as the client "retail price". Products are global so pricing can be set as wholesale or as retail. You will have the opportunity later on to markup or discount the product on a per space basis.
Pro Tip: To get the URL of an image, right click on the image and click “copy image URL” Typically when pasting an image URL it will end in one of the following supported file types: .jpg .jpeg .png .gif. To learn more about image URL’s click here.
Categories vs. Subcategories
We give you a great way to keep your products organized and easy to find, no matter who is using the studio. Ensure to specify a category for the products you are adding/clipping. Go one step further and start typing in a subcategory to add it to the list for future use.
Pro Tip: We set the categories, and you can set your own sub categories. If you feel a category is missing, let us know.
Quick Add, Favoriting, Filtering
Use the + symbol on a product to quickly add it directly to a project or package. Use the checkboxes to select multiple products to quick add. Use the heart icon to favorite the products you love. You can easily search and filter your favorites afterwards.
Easily see what you are looking for by using the name search at the top of the catalog, the quick categories or more specifically the detailed filters. This way you can filter to see only your products, partner vendor catalogs and more.
Products cannot be deleted. We did this to prevent you from deleting a product that’s active in a clients project. Archiving a product will keep the product active in the client project but won’t be visible in your catalog. You can unarchive a product at any time.
Catalog Tear Sheets
From your catalog you can generate a PDF tearsheet. Simply click on the product you would like and in the quick view menu, select "Tear Sheet PDF"
